Disaster Adverted!

Man that was a stressful trip to CVS this Sunday morning but it didn't start that way. My shopping was going great, got all the items that i needed & the shelves were stocked. I didn't get the 2/$4.00 Q-tips cause i couldn't find them. I swear i walked entire store like 5 times. The only ones i found were the CVS brand, but those were not the sale ones. So i decided to nix that item. Below is my shopping trip.

2 - Head & Shoulders 2-n-1
2 - Axe Deodorants
1 - Hershey's Air Delight (only cause i got a free coupon from the coupon machine)
1 - Always Infinity panti-liners
1 - Pepto-Bismol
4 - Pringles grab & go
2 - Oral-B Crossaction toothbrushes
2 - Oral-B Pulsar 3D White toothbrushes

Total Retail price - $57.73

Total price after sale's, coupons & ECB's from previous trip - $6.70 plus $14.00 in ECB's earned on this trip.

So this trip was a $7.30 money maker when you factor the price of the ECB's earned minus my total cost.

Now you may be wondering why this trip was almost a disaster. After i paid i only got back $8.00 in ECB's. Now i though to myself that this was not right, so i went and sat in the car and went back over the receipt. Low and behold there was a major mistake. Well when the cashier rung up the toothbrushes she scanned the Crossaction's 4 times since the price was the same for the Pulsars. Because of this i didn't get the $6.00 in ECB's for the Pulsars initially so i went back in with sales ad in hand. While i was waiting in line i was looking thru the add and it did show the Pulsars deal but it didn't show show the 3D white one so i went back to the isle to double check and that style was included.. So its my turn and  i explained to the lady what had happened. She was trying to do the refund to credit the ECB's i didn't get but she was having trouble. So the manager came over and tried to help but he was having issues as well.. He then politely explained to the cashier that she needs to make sure to scan each item individually to prevent this issue in the future.. He took be to a different register because there was a line building. I apologized to those behind me and they nicely responded that it was no problem. So after a few mins and the manager going back to the isle to double check, he handed over my $6.00 ECB's. YAY!.. but for some reason i was still $2.00 ECB's short. While i was still in the car going over the receipt again i saw that i didnt get the $2.00 ECB's for the pepto. I looked at my spreadsheet and saw that the deal was for the 12-16oz bottle and i mistakenly got the 8oz. So that was half my fault and half CVS because the sales tag was placed under the 8oz bottle.. But i wasn't gonna worry about that because i still got a damn good deal today.

1st trip planning for July

Well its Saturday!  I have got my shopping lists ready and looking for good deals. Gonna start clipping coupons and figure our the finances. Will post pictures tomorrow. :)

So its Friday July 1^st. Not sure what I am going to do this weekend but I know for sure that I am having a friend come over so I can introduce her to the wonderful world of couponing. Going to try to get some good deals since there is only one insert this weekend and that the P&G one I posted the preview about the other day. I know tonight that I have to run back to CVS to get the DOVE $5 ecb deal and the Ponds deal too.. just hope they have them on the shelf. I have heard from several people that the Dove’s Men Body wash is not ringing up correctly.. I hope that I don’t have that problem – will price check it first before going to the register. Glad that I stocked up on the ALL laundry detergent this past Sunday. I got a lot of laundry to do, so tonight I may go thru the clothes and start separating everything to wash tomorrow. Oh and I have to get stuff to make homemade tortilla’s so me and my husband can try the new Old El Paso Tortilla Stuffers that I got for .99c a piece…. In closing, while you’re out and about this weekend celebrating please make sure no to drink and drive. If you do drink, please PLEASE, call a cab. Call ahead cause your local cab company may offer an arrive alive program where your ride is free or they just bill you for it at a later date.. Happy 4^th of July everyone!

"How do they get so many?"

So I have had a lot of people ask me how people get so many coupons. Well there are many ways. Other than buying newspapers you can print them out (limit is usually 2 per computer via www.coupons.com), ask friends and family to save the coupon inserts for you, you can even dive in those paper recycling dumpsters to get them. But what some people don’t know is that you can buy them..Yeah I know what you’re thinking, “Why would I buy them?” I think the same way right now.  There are numerous clipping services (i.e www.thecouponclippers.com) that will actually clip coupons and sell them for minimal handling fee depending on the value of the coupon.  There are also companies out there that sell the whole insert such as www.wholecouponinserts.com . This is actually a good idea as coupons are regional. There may be some coupons that you want but they are only coming out in the northern parts of the US and this is a way to get coupons that you can def use.
